The Windmill

 

Dear comrades, I am filled with joy to inform you that Animal Farm will now begin construction on a windmill of our own. We have selected a spot for such an endeavor and all the necessary arrangements have been made, down to the temporary reduction of rations and minute planning. Now comrades, some of you may be asking, “I thought Comrade Napoleon was opposed to this idea?”. Ahh, but comrades, therein lies his cunning. He simply pretended to oppose Snowball, so as to rid Animal Farm of that heinous character once and for all. Now that he has been expelled by our ever so loyal dogs, Comrade Napoleon wishes to commence building the windmill; those are his orders comrades, and you are required to follow them as all good Animals must. In fact, comrades, our leader Napoleon had drawn up those plans from the start. The traitor Snowball stole them, like the craven he was. Give thanks to our leader, comrades, and praise his brilliance, for he has saved us all with his cleverness. Tactics, comrades, tactics, that’s all there is to it.
